Blue crabs are live and cooked whole; caught in Louisiana. Since it is a live animal the catch rate varies depending on the day. Colder days make blue crabs inactive and harder to catch. Blue crabs are available year round except March. Each lb yields three crabs; jumbos yield two but are male only.
