Director, Brand and Content

Full Time - Austin, TX

The Director, Brand and Content is responsible for shaping one of Texas’s fastest-growing brands! They define and maintain our brand identity to drive brand growth, awareness, and consistency across our platforms. Utilizing our brand promises, they distinguish Favor from the competition in the eyes of our target audience.

Leading the Brand team, they create integrated content that differentiates Favor and positions us as an industry leader. Partnering with the CRM and Media team, Creative team, and leaders on the Merchandising, Sales, and Product teams, they develop compelling storylines, content series, and partnership strategies that improve brand awareness and allow Favor to achieve its goals.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive brand strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives
  • Research current brand positioning to define and refine the brand's unique value proposition, integrating our brand promises so it resonates with all five Favor audiences and distinguishes the brand from competitors
  • Develop, manage, and report on the brand budget for partnerships, experiential campaigns, influencer campaigns, content creators, and brand and content marketing channels, allocating resources effectively to achieve brand goals
  • Partner with Favor’s Creative Director on the brand's visual and verbal identity, including logos, color schemes, messaging, and tone of voice
  • Lead the creation of integrated marketing campaigns that effectively communicate the brand's message, drive brand awareness and engagement, and define and align how customers feel when they hear about Favor
  • Monitor and manage brand equity, tracking brand health metrics and implementing strategies to enhance brand perception and loyalty
  • Build and manage a high-performing Brand team, providing guidance, mentorship, professional development, and clear direction to achieve brand objectives
  • Conduct performance evaluations using key metrics and provide ongoing feedback to assist each team member in achieving goals and objectives
  • Collaborate closely with the Integrated Marketing, Product, Sales, and Support teams to ensure alignment with brand strategy
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, consumer preferences, and the competitive landscape, using insights to inform brand decisions
  • Distill customer insights, business objectives, and success criteria to develop campaign briefs and toolkits to support the brand and strategic launches
  • Develop an annual integrated content strategy that brings our differentiation strategy to life and uniquely positions our brand across all channels
  • Partner with integrated marketing and channel leads to ensure the content strategy is correctly implemented
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for our brand marketing channels, setting clear quarterly and monthly goals that ladder up to business objectives and key results (OKRs) to measure the success of branding initiatives and make data-driven decisions
  • Partner with the Integrated Marketing team to lead quarterly planning for the Marketing team to accomplish our team OKRs by clearly defining goals, key initiatives, and KPIs
  • Partner with the Sr. Director, Creative on external partnerships with ad agencies and on our biannual brand campaigns

Skills You Have

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communication, or a related field (additional years or experience may be considered in place of a degree)
  • 7 years of agency or in-house brand or marketing experience, including developing and maintaining a high-level brand strategy 
  • 3 years of experience managing and developing a team
  • Proven experience in brand management with a track record of successfully developing and executing brand strategies from ideation to completion
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, including the best practices for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube and how to review and use social media analytics to drive results
  • Time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing projects and priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Deep understanding of business analytics and metrics
  • Ability to collaborate with and gain alignment from multiple stakeholders, ranging from C-level executives and directors to executing team members
