Chateau D'esclans, Whispering Angel, Rose: Crisp and Dry
WS: 90 pts. A light rose with a deceptively fruity bouquet, but a bone dry finish. This rose is a blend of Grenache, rolle, cinsault, Syrah, and mourvedre grapes. The flavor profile goes perfectly with all courses from appetizer to dessert. Raise a glass and usher in summer.
E. Guigal, Cotes Du Rhone, Rose: Fruity and Rich
This Rhone shows off the versatility of the appellation. Produced by saigne from Grenache, Syrah, and cinsault, this dry rose is fruity and rich with an appetizing finish. This rose pairs perfectly with spicy food, and fresh seafood.
Moulin De Gassac, Picpoul De Pinet (Organic): Crisp and Citrusy
A limited release wine out of Languedoc. Fermented in stainless steel to emphasize the fruit notes of the picpoul varietal. This particular wine pairs wonderfully with fried oysters, and fresh grilled seafood.
Col Solare, Bordeaux Blend, Columbia Valley (94 Points)
"An excellent Col solare; the best yet. It has suppleness and structure, with a panoply of fruits, from cassis to slightly candied cherries. The barrel notes are here in proportion, adding toast and coffee and chocolate, and the tannins are firm and polished. A strong core leads into a tight, confident finish." Pairings: rack of lamb, roasted duck, pork shank ossobuco.
